Radio Espial: Episode 19 - John Buckley McQuaid (Musician)

Musician John Buckley McQuaid talks about his latest album 'This is Where I keep My Dreams' with Radio Espial's Mick Rooney. Born in Dublin and based in Denmark for many years, John Buckley McQuaid is a professional musician who has toured all over Europe, from pub and music venues to art museums, theatres, schools, prisons and festivals. In addition to writing songs, he writes lyrics and fairy tales. He is also a visual artist (photography, painting and illustration) and makes videos and short films. He played his first paid gig at the Foxrock Folk Club in Dublin in 1969, busked and played around Dublin until 1972 when he left for London. He moved to Denmark in 1973, where he turned professional musician in 1979. Much of his writing contains social commentary, challenging the prevalent general apathy. His albums over the years include: Recorded Pain (1979), Stations in the Sky (1985), and Call it Love (1990). In 2017, he also released ‘’Valentine’s Day’’, a 29 video and so

Broadcaster and journalist Mick Rooney talks to Buythebook owner Rachel Drury for Radio Espial. Rachel graduated as an engineer in 2005 and worked for over 10 years In the renewable energy industry both in Ireland, Chile, Sweden and South Africa before relocating to Sydney, Australia in 2013. In 2018, Rachel returned back to Ireland and stopped working as an engineer due to illness. In 2020, Rachel decided to write a book, in the hope that it would help others through a difficult time in their life. The book is about about the lessons Rachel learned in her own life while living with a long-term illness (ulcerative colitis). After self-publishing her book, Rachel was keen to be part of an Irish Author community so she set up buythebook.ie so that Irish Authors had an Irish owned marketplace to sell their books but that they could also support each other while marketing and promoting their books. Radio Espial: Episode 17 - The Bernadette Connolly Case (Timeline and Analysis) | Missing

Journalist and broadcaster Mick Rooney presents a detailed timeline and analysis of the Bernadette Connolly case. 45-year-old Bernadette Connolly has been missing from the Swords area of Dublin since Friday 7th January, 2022 (12.38 pm). Ms Connolly, who was last seen on Donabate beach, is described as being 5' 6" (1.68m) tall, of slim build, with hazel eyes and long black hair. GardaĆ­ say that Bernadette was wearing a black Nike training top, black Nike leggings, and black trainers with a white sole and a black woolly hat with black bobble at the time she went missing. She was last seen on CCTV after she was dropped off by taxi at the carpark of the Shoreline Hotel, Donabate, when she walked towards the entrance to Donabate Beach. She has been missing for more than three weeks. GardaĆ­ are looking to speak with and identify anyone that may have been on Donabate Beach on Friday, 7th January from noon onwards.
